People : Jenny Barden

Jenny Barden has lived in Brighton for the past 3 years and is willing to answer some random questions about love, life and laughter.

What's your name?
Jenny 'Ju' Barden.

How old are you? 22.

I hear you're studying at University? What's your course and are you actually having any fun like the typical Uni student? I am studying Engineering - Yes, I am a geek - and I live with my three best friends so I am having the time of my life!

You've lived in Brighton for a few years now. Getting any older, or any newer? Like anywhere you live for a long time it can become a routine, but Brighton still surprises me. I fell in love with Brighton four years ago and I still get the same buzz when I come back home.

Some people say the best things in life are free. Would you agree? The people you meet and the relationships you have with them is something that money can't buy - so yes.

2009 is going well for a lot of people. Give us one highlight, and one low light of 2009 for you. I visited Paris in January, amazing city. Sadly, I had to go to a funeral earlier in the year.

In 20 years time you will be... Taking it easy.

Do you have any regrets? A few, but I am working on changing that.

Excited about the Summer? Yes - I have a flat in Shoreditch to move in to over the summer. I've never lived in London before so it should be a great adventure.

Final question - ever been in love? No... I'm incapable.

Brighton is a place best known for its citizens quirky and individual style. Amongst the chaos of the Fringe Festival, we Snapped some fashionable youngsters on the streets, took their names and handed them a contact card. Whoever you people were, if you've made your way back here, join the Snapped Facebook Group and let us know who you are, because we'd really like to get to know you!

Technical Problems...

SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!

A technical fault has made our entire Snapping weekend a total waste of time! The photo's from Kinky Dangerous wont be available until further notice.

However, we have more than one camera and if you're at New Hero or Revenge this Saturday, you WILL get Snapped!

See you around town, club kids.

People: 4 guys, some questions...

Daniel Hobbs, 2o, Photographer, part-time model and skinny scenester.

Daniel, what do you do? I'm a photographer and just generally living life.

If you could be dressed by any designer on a daily basis, who would it be and why? I can never decide on just one designer, or on one thing of anything. Why be dressed just by one designer, when you could be dressed by different designers on a daily basis. A completely new look every day? That's my ideal look.

Nice. If you were to have one last meal before execution, what would it be? A very large meal that would take years to prepare and years to finish, giving me enough time to stop myself being executed... if that failed, probably a cheesy pasta bake.

If you had 4 minutes left to live, who would you spend them with? By the time I decided I'd probably be dead.

Best film ever? I don't have favourites, I can never decide on one thing and if I did, I'd probably end up finding something better.

Did you ever have any crushes on school teachers? I had sex with a teacher from my college, so yes, although it wasn't really a crush, I guess it was more a turn on for the fact he was a teacher...

Louie Thomas French, 19, Mens Supervisor at New Look in Brighton and general party boy.

Louie, what do you do with yourself? I make shit clothes look hot for a big retail company.

How's living in Brighton for you? Really good/really horrendous.. small scene!

Any haunts you regularly visit for a good ol' gay night out? I don't even have to name them... Revenge, Charles Street, Vavoom, R-Bar. AVOID Legends etc.

You've been stuck on a desert island for 7 years, and someone says you can get off but you have to do 1 of 2 things. Either eat a plate of steaming hot poo, or kill a puppy and eat it... what would you do? What the fuck? Definitely kill the puppy!

Are your feet ticklish? Extremely.

Best film ever? There's too many... most of which I like because they are hilariously shite. Obviously Brokeback Mountain, Breakfast at Tiffany's, House of Wax, HSM, Withnail and I and The Green Mile.

What are your favourite 3 songs at the moment? Deadmau5 - I Remember, Britney - anything post breakdown and anything by La Roux.

Final question Ever been in love? No, thank God. Too young!

Jeffrey Wakeham, 29, Telephone Enquires Officer & handsome devil.

Jeffrey! What do you do with yourself? This and that.

Brighton's been labelled the 'gay capital' of the UK and has held this tag for many years now. What do you think of it all? I REALLY can't stand that description of Brighton, but 'queer' capital is better than 'gay' capital I suppose... forget straight, gay, bi etc, lets just be queer, in other words lets just be what you want when you want.

Your favourite haunts? I like to try loads of different places, not a great fan of the scene but will go to Revenge, Charles Street etc every now and then... prefer places that are not 'gay' focused.

What's your favourite film of ALL time? Once upon a time in America (or I haven't seen it yet).

Are you ga ga about Lady Ga Ga? She's alright, hooky tunes.

Ever been in love, Jeffrey? Maybe once...

Daniel James O'Connor, 20, Psychology student at the University of Sussex

Hi Daniel. How are things for you in Brighton? Dire.

If you were to have one last meal before execution, what would it be? Lasagne. Are they bringing the death sentence back? I for one, am entirely for this. So many shell suits...

Are you ticklish? I'd rather not disclose!

What do you think of Lady Ga Ga? I'm ga ga about the idea of pistol whipping the bint.

Have you ever been in love? No. I don't think that is possible.

Dannii Minogue and her flowers

Here's Dannii Minogue Snapped trying on some hot head accessories at my friend Kate's work. Per Una wanted some feedback on their new collection and who better to judge a set of sparkley hats other than Ms Minogue herself!

Seriously stunning!

Three male models you need to keep your eye on.

Luke Worrall
Luke is 19 and is from Kate Mossey Wossey Croydon. Probably the biggest male model at the moment. So far, Luke has campaigned for Topman, Marc Jacobs and Vivienne Westwood and has graced the cover of Dazed & Confused magazine whilst shoving out unique, stylish editorials in i-D, French Vogue and W Magazine alongside Hillary Swank. At the moment he's walking the runways, waving the British flag for damn decent handsome-ness and is currently dating Kelly Osbourne.
Cole Mohr
Cole is an American trouble maker from Texas, and at only 22, is one of the most successful male models that ever existed. Cole is good friends with Luke Worrall and they have done a few editorials together, the most recent featured in Arena Homme. Cole's career is as meaty as those pumped up lips of his... in the past year alone he has campaigned for Marc by Marc Jacobs (as the male AND female face of his collection), H&M, Vera Wang and has graced the covers of countless magazines, including Japanese Vogue and Dansk. Boy done good.
Ash Stymest
Ash is a 17 year old from London who has only just popped up recently on the modelling scene, but has already worked with Josh Beech and Cole Mohr on various editorials and has already graced the cover of Japanese Vogue. He was the face of Topman and has walked for thousands of designers, most recently Balenciaga at the Paris Fashion Show. He's all about the skinny and the tattoos, which I think really works for him as he's a unique guy with a versatility that will take him far into his career.

Movie Review : Star Trek (2009)

I gotta be honest here: I was never really a Star Trek fan.

To wit: I've never watched any of the previous Star Trek movies, I've never really enjoyed the USS Enterprise adventures, I've never participated in the whole Kirk-Picard debate, and I've always thought that Star Wars was better.

But after watching the J.J. Abrams version of Star Trek, I'm ready to boldly go where I've never gone before.

This film is such a slick, and action-packed update that I think it's a good study for making sci-fi material into box-office gems. I think the movie has a great amount of exhilarating sequences, the right amount of humor, and, of course, space scenes that would make fanboys sigh. I also like how the film was able to integrate the 1960's look, from the clothes to the technology design (notice the ships' designs)

As far as the ensemble cast goes, I found Zachary Quinto's Spock much, much more interesting than Chris Pine's James T. Kirk. The rest were given ample attention, but the ones that stood out were McCoy (Karl Urban), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Sulu (John Cho), and Scotty (Simon Pegg).

There's really not much to dislike about this version of Star Trek. If this latest version of the franchise is the new start of the film franchise, Star Trek will live long and prosper.

Beginnings.

Bonjour,

& welcome to my blog!

Here you'll find everything and anything... but this place is mainly a storage box for all the photo's of fashionable, sexy boys and girls I snap at club parties, bars and on the streets of the UK. People who look and feel good ALL the time.

At the moment, times are tough. People are unhappy, moneys tight and everyone hates the goverment! So go out and party! Over the next year I intend to have a f***ing good time and photograph every Nick, Dan and Nancy I meet on the way, weather they're dressed in drag or this seasons latest chic get up - if they look the part and are up for a good time, I'll snap them up!

Since May Bank Holiday Weekend '09 I've photographed a lot of people, my main haunts being Brighton and London. Some have been photographed on the street, others in clubs, some taken and interviewed against their WILL!

This isn't just a blog on street fashion and party times around the UK... here you'll find movie reviews, album reviews, interviews with some of the most gorgeous, youthful, future talent and general opinion-ness!

Being a queer n' all, there will be major concentration on hot boys in underwear... so keep you're eyes peeled. Everyone loves a hot boy, right?

So let it begin.
